Change in mood

Par défaut

I’m about to received my new desk, a Cadac j type. It will be used for tracking (preamp and eq) and summing (sub mixing bus). Mix will stay in the box. I’ll set up an Artist Control above the j type for pro tools and a new monitoring system, the Dangerous Mointor ST-SR will be the Martinsound multimax EXR finally. The CR will be 5.1, hybrid.

By the way, the control 24 is on sale on ebay belgium. SOLD.

Home

Par défaut

Here we are, I haven’t show pics of my home but I’ve done it as well. It already took me more than two years as I’ve done a lot by myself. Final planes with last mods are about to come. I ‘ll post some shareable version for you. I’ve post a link or Gearslutz. It will be the place to ask about details, if anybody wish.

Behind the studio floor

Par défaut

The lounge and part of my house is behind the studio. I build a second frame with plasterboard and insulation.

structure and deck

Par défaut

roof’s structure beam are 28cm high and more than 7m long. It looks like a reverse boat. Deck are now all in place. From outside, the roof is the same than before. Inside, the space is all free. Note while the roof was open, we load the concrete block for inside wall (concrete and concrete again…).

Moisture

Par défaut

As it’s an old building, it’s subject to moisture. I have to drain the back of studio. So we dig as deep as the building go down. We also dig a yard at the same time for my home.

New roof

Par défaut

the new roof need strongs supports to land on. So, concrete around with wall injections and a big « lamellé collé » (in french) on the top. This beam is more than 1,6 tons heavy, and one side is nearly 20m2… and it was a windy day. I fly for the first time.

Studio floating floor

Par défaut

These big concrete pre (6,5m by 1,2m) stand on the merfomer. Lay down was really fast, around five hours. with the concrete on, the tickness is 40cm. It leave us free to build a concrete wall everywhere we want, as if it was on the ground.
